The Removable TFM is a gasket we developed because of its unique mechanical properties. The gasket is made out of two mating parts. In between these two parts you can place any kind of product as long as it is no thicker than 1.00 mm. Products like orifice plates, screens and perforated discs can be used. The Removable TFM gasket can be dismantled after use, cleaned and reassembled again without any problem. Perfect if a screen needs to be cleaned. Orifice plates can be exchanged rapidly. Sock screens which cannot be supplied with a PTFE-seal can now be equipped with a TFM seal.

Our screen gaskets are not used the same way as conventional filters, although they can be considered a filter. Conventional filters are built differently and have many layers to prevent particles to pass through, these can reach efficiencies of almost 100%. A particle comes in many different shapes.
For example, a hair has a diameter of Ø 0,1 mm but the length can be centimetres long. If the hair arrives perpendicular to the screen it might pass a 100 mesh screen. With a conventional filter, the second or third layer will prevent the hair to pass. Retention’s of standard screens are calculated according to international standards using perfectly round glass spheres. Our screens are only one layer and therefore they cannot be considered the same as a filter. Each screen gasket has a high-performance gasket made out of one of the validated compounds that we use for our standard Sanitary Gaskets range.
If we want to install an orifice plate with a thickness of 1.00 mm, we use the setup with two mating parts both consisting of a 0.50 mm chamber. These two chambers add up to 1.00 mm. Carefully locate the centre chamber, place the orifice plate inside and click the two gasket halves together so they lock.
If we want to install a screen with a thickness of 0.45 mm, we use the setup with two mating parts one with a 0.50 mm chamber and one without, so flat. Carefully locate the centre chamber, place the screen inside and click the two gasket halves together so they lock.
