It can even be used for MHP clamps with hex bolts. Depending on the gasket material you can chose the specific Torque in Nm. Turn until it starts clicking. By using the Torque Knob you introduce consistency in your system. The clean ability increases dramatically because of less gasket intrusion in the flow path.

Our screen gaskets are not used the same way as conventional filters, although they can be considered a filter. Conventional filters are built differently and have many layers to prevent particles to pass through, these can reach efficiencies of almost 100%. A particle comes in many different shapes.
For example, a hair has a diameter of Ø 0,1 mm but the length can be centimetres long. If the hair arrives perpendicular to the screen it might pass a 100 mesh screen. With a conventional filter, the second or third layer will prevent the hair to pass. Retention’s of standard screens are calculated according to international standards using perfectly round glass spheres. Our screens are only one layer and therefore they cannot be considered the same as a filter. Each screen gasket has a high-performance gasket made out of one of the validated compounds that we use for our standard Sanitary Gaskets range.
Over-compression is the biggest problem experienced in this industry. Most of the elastomer gaskets are already destroyed even before they are being used. Think about the life expectancy of a gasket that is over-compressed.

Place the knob and socket over the wing nut. Turn it clockwise, once it “clicks” you have reached the desired torque with a precision of 4%.
PTFE type gaskets require to “settle” this means that they need to be re-torqued after the first and sometimes second sterilization cycle. Re-torqueing is always done at the same torque level, not higher.
We recently introduced a re-calibration program. Torque Knobs with serial numbers can be returned to Ultrapharma for yearly calibration. An inspection will take place before calibration.
